A naturally gifted stage performer
who never just goes through the paces but always draws the audiences
into his live shows - keeping the experience genuine, accessible and
down to earth. Anyone who has seen one of Kurt's performances can
appreciate the vitality and raw energy he creates on stage. Kurt
is totally original in the way he approaches his reso-phonic guitar
playing and possesses a slide technique which is rare to find. At times
his guitar finger picking becomes a relentless cascade of angry notes,
but Kurt can also a take you on a tender journey with his gentle
approach to the National guitar. He displays a sophisticated method of
playing thumping bass lines alongside electrifying lead breaks –
a technically amazing feat that Kurt makes look effortless. Kurt's
voice moves between the extremes of a menacing growl and a smooth,
heartfelt croon. In his writing Kurt uses the voices of vulnerability,
strength and, faith to convey his stories, which are set to a platform
of awesome blues rock and sweet playful ballads. His stage persona
evokes a toughness and honesty that appeals to the punters.
Kurt currently has a few musical projects. His premiere project is 'The
Kurt Williams Band' which features himself and brilliant drummer Guy
Hughes – a man whose mastery and control of the skins is truly
awesome.
Originally from Ocean Grove, Victoria, and now based in Sydney, Kurt
regularly performs the live circuit. His songs receive airplay
nationally and he has been involved in numerous radio interviews, live
to airs and regularly features in local and national media. 'The
Kurt Williams Band' (KWB) will blow you away with their passion and
commitment to a cranking and inspirational live show. Without a doubt
this is one of Australia's most dynamic and sincere new acts
